DIY Shamrock Shake Recipe ☘

I remember even before McDonald's had these amazingly festive treats, my mom would make green milkshakes with my brother and I on St. Patrick's day. Every sip of a Shamrock Shake tastes like a bit of my childhood and brings back such sweet memories.
Gavin is at the age where he loves bright colored things (especially if they are messy)  so I figured it would be a fun project to make some of these festive milkshakes to enjoy with the family.  It only calls for four ingredients and it's so easy so perfect to do with kids!

What You'll Need:

  • 2 cups vanilla icecream
  • 1 1/4 cups milk (can use whole or low-fat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mint extract
  • 3 drops green food coloring
Directions:  Combine all ingredients into a blender on low.  Serve immediately in a glass and top with whipped cream.

Boho Beach + Update on Motherhood

I channeled my inner Marilyn Monroe on this outfit outtake outside of my beautiful balcony in Fort Lauderdale at the Hilton beach Resort.  The weather, the hotel, and the beach was perfect, however our trip had a scary start.
If you saw my Instagram post, we took what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation that took an unexpected turn.  Gavin got really sick while traveling and ended up in the hospital for dehydration and a virus called RSV.  I never knew what worry truly was until I had a child.  Seeing Gavin in the hospital, hooked up to IV's was truly my personal hell.  I pray for his health and happiness every single day and to know he was suffering so much was extremely terrifying for me and my husband.  It made me realize how precious life is and how much our babies need their Mommies.  We spent two nights at Broward Hospital's children unit and I felt so lucky that great healthcare was just an Uber drive away while we were on vacation.
I never thought that I'd be sharing a hospital bed with Gavin as a patient (especially on a family vacation) but our little family got through this.  Gavin is a fighter and came out stronger.  Mama, on the other hand, is an over-protective mess but maybe needs a few more weeks to recuperate! ;)

Valentine's Day | Pink Party Popcorn Mix

I absolutely love popcorn, especially when it's mixed with other goodies.  This adorable popcorn mix is not only perfect for a Valentine's day treat, but great for girly functions such as baby showers, bachelorette parties, and birthdays.  I found some recipes on Pinterest and did my own variation based on ingredients I had.  I also thought it might be cute to package in little treat bags and hand out as Valentines. You can also switch up the colors for other themes.  To go over-the-top pink, I enjoyed with some old-fashioned strawberry milk.

What You'll Need:
  • A package of your favorite popcorn (or you can pop your own).  I love Boom Chicka Pop.
  • 5-6 drops red food coloring (or color of choice)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup Candy- I used Pink candy corn and M + Ms
Directions:
Heat oven to 200 degrees.  Boil the sugar, butter, water and food coloring for about 4 minutes.  Let cool for 5-10 minutes. Pour popcorn onto a cookie sheet and then evenly pour the sugar mix over the popcorn and toss.   Let the popcorn bake for 7-10 minutes.  After popcorn cools, mix in the candy and serve.
