I remember even before McDonald's had these amazingly festive treats, my mom would make green milkshakes with my brother and I on St. Patrick's day. Every sip of a Shamrock Shake tastes like a bit of my childhood and brings back such sweet memories.
Gavin is at the age where he loves bright colored things (especially if they are messy) so I figured it would be a fun project to make some of these festive milkshakes to enjoy with the family. It only calls for four ingredients and it's so easy so perfect to do with kids!
What You'll Need:
- 2 cups vanilla icecream
- 1 1/4 cups milk (can use whole or low-fat)
- 1/2 teaspoon mint extract
- 3 drops green food coloring
Directions: Combine all ingredients into a blender on low. Serve immediately in a glass and top with whipped cream.
Ever After,
Jamie
Yummy! I've never had or made a Shamrock shake before, but I love mint so maybe this year I'll have to try. Food coloring always seems to make things more exciting for kids, LOL!
